I have been a customer of Oak Hillside cleaners for 30 years. They are remarkably bright, accommodating, and helpful as well as being very careful. (I do not think that a single item has been lost or damaged in all the years that I have been a customer). I wholeheartedly endorse this business.
I dropped off my favorite comforters to be dry-cleaned. The proprietor took them and some ornate pillow cases, but neglected to mention that she wouldn't be dry-cleaning the comforters, only the pillow cases. When I went to pick them up, she told me that the comforters had been damaged by washing them in the washing machine, and suggested that I pay to have her seamstress fix them. I told her that I could've washed them in my washing machine for free, but that I knew they were delicate and therefore wanted to have them dry-cleaned. Her response was to charge me almost a hundred bucks for ruining my comforters.
Update: they offered me a refund or free repair. The lesson here is to be sure to carefully check what they're going to do to your delicate items before leaving them there.
