The great stuff >> Wonderful team, On time, Go out of the way to ensure customer is happy (replaced a component for me, matched the building paint color etc). I really enjoyed working with the support team, and deployment team.
Things that could be better >> Attention to little details (yep, I know I am a picky engineer), Could be better at educating the customer regarding how the system works, Clean up better
A visit to their location in Irvine is worth the time. The CEO is a super nice guy, even though he failed to reply to my subsequent emails with suggestions ;)
Overall, I am quite happy and no hesitation in recommending OC Solar. I would do business with them again.
Orange County Solar - Overall a Solid Job
Orange County Solar (OCS) was the only reputable mobile home solar installer I found in the region, and overall, they did a good job.
All interactions were handled professionally. The project timeline, from July 7 to August 10, was reasonable for the scope of work.
Due to availability issues, the planned battery was upgraded to a 16KW model at no additional cost, which I greatly appreciated.
Communication with Ashton was excellent, providing reassurance about the rafter support for the PV panels installed on my coach.
However, a few areas could have been improved:
• Communication around the battery rebate process was lacking, though to their credit, they are actively working with the SGIP team to resolve it. • OCS informed me that Permission to Operate (PTO) had been issued on Sept 26, but it wasn’t actually granted until Oct 10. The delay was partially due to the battery upgrade. I did make the final payment six weeks before the project was fully completed, which was outside my usual practice. • The Solar Edge system management app provided (thanks for that) requires an API key to track energy usage. It took me a bit of time to figure out.
I can't express enough gratitude for the outstanding service provided by OC Solar. My experience with them began amidst a stressful power outage, but Walter's reassuring voice on the phone instantly put me at ease. From that initial call, through the quoting and loan process, every step was smooth sailing.
They patiently answered all my questions, ensuring I understood everything clearly. The true testament to their professionalism came during the installation, led by Jose and his team (Hugo and Francisco). Despite encountering a sudden downpour, they remained unfazed, demonstrating remarkable resilience and dedication to their work. Their attention to detail and efficiency throughout the installation process were truly impressive. And let's talk about the equipment--Tesla Powerwall paired with Panasonic panels? Not only top notch equipment, but also a great price for the combination. It doesn't get any better than that.
Thanks to OC Solar, not only do I now have a reliable source of renewable energy, but I also have peace of mind knowing that I chose a company that values customer satisfaction above all else. I wholeheartedly recommend OC Solar to anyone looking to make the switch to solar energy. They exceeded my expectations in every aspect, and I couldn't be happier with the results.
