I have been to hundreds of funeral services (Rose Hills, Forest Lawn, Fairhaven, Hilgenfeld, and Westminster, to name a few) and they are all a distraction to the memory of the deceased and the family. They like to hear their own voice and go on and on several times during the service and graveside. The O'Connor Mortuary representatives did not speak a single word. They were attentive, respectful and in the background. When one of the representatives approached the widow he very respectfully knelt in front of her and very discretely got instructions from her. There removed themselves from the service and did not appear until it was over and it was only to open the casket (which was done simply and with exceptional care). They once again let the room allowing the guests to continue with the service. Like I said, they were exemplary. Discrete, professional. Thank you very much for remembering how to be a help during a stressful time in a families life.
