Interesting little cranny in the desert, the basalt formations get unique & the trek isn't terrible.

Excellent short walk if you enjoy unique geology of Eastern Washington.

Go early in the day in Summer, gets quite hot. Very easy walk for adults and younger kids to see the craters. But there are definitely better places nearby if you're going for just the hike. It was nothing spectacular for the average viewer, possibly cooler for those who are really into geology. We took our 2 small dogs and they hated it, even though it was only a couple miles and we had water. No place for shade. But it was private, well lined out and something fairly interesting.
