Gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS!!! It actually began construction in 1917, however, the US joined the Great War that same year, and construction came to a screeching halt! Construction didn't resume until 1922, but was completed in 1923.
**Highly recommend reading the New York Times article, linked on this page (thank you to whoever posted it!).
Personally, I feel like it should be converted into a museum rather than a metro station... I just feel like certain smaller nuances inside might need to be "modernized" (meaning, destroyed/replaced) in the pursuit of such a business venture. I just hate to see when all that's left of a historic building is only just the "outer shell" and nothing more... Additionally, I feel a small museum would be more "community freindly" than a bustling Metrolink station.
Whatever becomes of it in the future, we can certainly all agree that this building MUST remain standing, for as long as the city of Anaheim exists!
(Just say NO to property developers and their "projects"; they are the scum of the earth, whose greed and lust for destroying history, knows no bounds...)
