I selected Oregon Pediatrics and Dr. Long as the provider for my newborn. After our first visit, I quickly changed providers. My husband, 10-year old daughter and I were excited for this first newborn appointment but when we arrived, we were checked in by someone in an oversized blazer sweatshirt (not professional looking) who was not overly friendly. Once back in the room, there was an MA and a MA trainee who started asking us questions - the trainee was very abrupt and clearly going through the motions vs. talking with us - she referenced my daughter as ‘he’ not one, not two, but FOUR times; each time I corrected her. Dr. Long arrived and was distracted. Her bedside manner and developing rapport was lacking. Even though our appointment was likely routine to her, this was our new baby and we deserved some enthusiasm. Afterwards, my 10- year old daughter commented on how the visit didn’t feel good. Very disappointing.

Dr. Heather Long is one of the easiest doctors to work with. Always answers all of our questions. Never feel rushed during the appointments and provides through well baby checkups. Does no push the modern vaccine schedule and allows for us to do what we feel is best. Dr. Long appears to be knowledgeable and experienced with providing our children with care. She performed our son’s circumcision without any issues. The bills through our BCBS insurance are always as estimated. Preventive checkups and vaccines have always been fully covered through insurance with no surprises. Just wish she could be our adult primary care as well. (5 stars for Dr. Heather Long)
Note: Some of the office staff, front desk, and billing show inexperience or lack of personal skills. This is something Oregon Pediatrics should improve on and does appear to be a known issue within the office.
(3.5 stars for the office staff)

We love seeing Doctor Long! My kids like her, she is easy to talk to, explains things well, and clearly reviews my kids charts before our appointments. I have had both good and frustrating experiences with the office staff.
