Was helped by Donna and Dr Hetzler today, seen 5 min after checking in, The doctor asked thorough questions and did many tests to ensure there was not an undiagnosed problem. They were both very thorough and respectful and the process was a breeze I highly recommend this doctor.

This ENT office is a major disappointment. The specialists may be well equipped to deal with common problems (e.g., kids' sniffles, ear aches, etc.) that are straight out of a textbook, they are far less than merely incompetent when faced with complaints that are exceptions as happened in my case. Due in part to patient throughput mandates, these specialists are incapable of digging into a deeper problem. Worse yet, they will never concede that a patient has a problem that is beyond their immediate textbook understanding. With my particular issue, I saw all the site doctors trying to get a correct view of my issue and finally self-referred to Stanford Medical Center where appropriate action finally took place. One PAMF doctor (loosely speaking) told me that "everybody has ringing ears," lightly passing off a much more serious problem. In summary, this PAMF ENT office has a patient throughput mandate that precludes any in-depth specialist view of a problem. Furthermore, their internal culture is such that they cannot admit that a problem is beyond their understanding. They don't know when they don't know. The PAMF Santa Cruz ENT office needs a management review. They are worse than mediocre (unless the patient merely have a textbook sniffly nose). All PAMF offices have an "Above and Beyond" feedback setup with management apparently blind to the possibility and actuality of "Below and Beneath" service quality.
