This place should not be called mom and baby care center, they neither care for moms nor for babies. They will push you to rent their pump, and bottle feed your babies even though baby has a great latch, if he drinks 28 ml from breast, they will say that they are not satisfied he should have drank 30 ml. Very incompetent staff, I was a second time mom so I was able to follow my instincts even though they tried to scare me that my baby wasn’t gaining enough weight (4 day old born). I had a follow up visit with my pediatrician where they mentioned baby was gaining weight as expected and not to follow anything that nurse suggested us. For all moms, do not just go by what this people suggest here even though you have to visit them. If possible avoid this place, not worth it at all.
As a fourth time mother but a first time patient with overlake medical center I was extremely pleased with my care until today when I looked at my insurance and was shocked to see that I would be charged $75 for a “lactation consult” by the mom and baby center. This is my SIXTH consecutive year breastfeeding my children so when the nurse asked if I had any questions I politely declined as baby has had a strong latch and was on track with wet diapers and reaching his birth weight again! I did breastfeed my baby before I left the building because my newborn was hungry so I guess she charged me for getting a quick peek at my nip? Unethical and disgusting! I will obviously reach out to billing but beware of getting duped by the money hungry staff
I had a very bad experience at this place. I visited them on 4th day, they made my baby use the formula milk and nipple in the name of low weight. Due to this visit, Me and my baby had to face a lot of latching issues, and my milk flow reduced. Please do not allow them to spoil the initial days of breast feeding for you. I would suggest skipping this visit. Or if you need any help related to lactation, go only after you and baby have established breastfeeding. Don’t allow them to spoil the initial days and lose your peace of mind.
Also, I had asked them to check a small issue for which they told me to go to urgent care, stating all their nurses were busy and they usually check only lactation issues. Which is pretty weird considering it’s named mom and baby care.
