I owe my Sunday out with my partner to PTC! We drove 2 hours to Port Townsend, and my bike tire had an issue that we couldn't resolve with our small tool kits. So the owner drove in on his day off and let me borrow a wheel! It saved our weekend plans, and allowed me to enjoy the sunny day, biking around town. I can't thank them enough for extending such a nice gesture!
My partner and I just purchased two brand-new bikes from Bob at PT Cyclery (All-City Space Horse and Surly Straggler). I've worked for and been a customer at several bike stores, and I've seen the best and worst of technical expertise, customer service, and attitude...and I'm happy to say that we got the absolute best of all three at PT Cyclery.
Bob has been in the industry for well over 20 years, and he's great at guiding with his experience and knowledge instead of pushing it down your throat. I was actually leaning towards a different bike, but after several long conversations with Bob, I went with the Surly Straggler and I'm so glad he took the time to help me figure out which bike would actually be the best fit for me and my riding style. On top of that, he did a rush (but thorough and high-quality) build on my new ride so I could participate in a last-minute bike tour. I'm so glad I live in a city with a kickass local bike store!
