The house is less than 2 years old and it's already showing either wood rot or black mold in a big area or the roof. It will probably be a very expensive repair. The builder referred me to the 2-10 warranty but since it's not strictly structural, I'm sure I'm on my own here.
I didn't expect to have to fork out thousands of dollars in fixes less than 2 years after buying a brand new house.
There's also areas inside the house where gaps between the ceiling and walls grow up to 5mm wide when it gets cold. A lot of corners where walls meet are popping open. Will probably have to spend another few thousand dollars fixing these later on.
If you want a fine built home, I would highly recommend New Tradition Homes. I had one for 17 years and it had ZERO issues.
I will never buy from Pacific Lifestyle Homes again.

Pacific Lifestyle Homes is our absolute favorite builder! Laura P is our sales consultant and I highly recommend anyone going to her if you're thinking about buying a home. Laura has made it possible for us to customize our home to fit our style and within the budget. Her attention to detail is mind-blowing and communication has always been consistent. She will answer her phone at any time of the day, even when she's not working her business hours. She understands the importance of buying a home and made this a low-stress process. In addition, we are so incredibly pleased with our super superintendent, Robert. He genuinely cares about the whole construction process, day-to-day operations, and goes above and beyond with his work, catches anything that needs to be corrected before it's too late. When you talk to him, you can sense how much he cares about the work he does for other people. Robert has walked us through the whole building process so thoroughly and answered any additional questions/concerns. Overall, Laura, Robert, and the team has provided us with a positive experience and we would choose PLH all over again.

PLH has been great to work with. We are working with both Tori and Karen for the design and purchase of our house. Both have been been extremely responsive, professional and helpful through every step of our first time design and build process. Karen was extremely patient with us when selecting our design and allowed us to go back and forth with our design. She even suggested some options when she didn’t think things would look good or fit in our house, that to say they do not force extra items on you if you don’t want them. It was a pressure free experience, where we felt comfortable saying yes and no to the things we wanted. One minor thing was that we had to reiterate certain items we wanted to make sure what we signed off on was correct. That being said, there are a lot of moving pieces so just make sure to double check that you and the designer/builder are on the same page for what you want. So far PLH has been wonderful to work with.
