I had a great experience at Paradox Tattoo. Everyone is really nice. Great vibe to the shop. Clean and well run.
I had Whitney do a very large leg piece. I followed Whitney for about 8 years so getting a tattoo from her was a really big deal for me. Bucket list item.
Her work was as expected. IMHO, everything about her work is best of the best. It's an epic piece for sure.
As a human, Whitney is super chill. Easy to talk to. I felt very at ease with her from the start.
I would not say Whitney is cheap but that's to be expected. She's won countless awards. You're getting what you pay for. She does work fast, and she is old school (she charges for the time she spends actually tattooing). No design fees. Although I'm OK with tattoo artists that charge a small design fee, I would rather work with an artist that does it the old school way and builds that cost into their hourly rate. In honor of high-quality artists that maintain the old school traditions I always tip 20%. If you are not tipping your artist, you should be. Consider a smaller piece and do your best to tip.
Once my tattoo heals and Whitney is happy with it, we'll take pictures and I'll update my review with a photo.
Thanks for the tattoo Whitney. My wife and or I will get on your books again soon.
