They wanted $45 plus parts to replace a socket base. I went online, saw a video on how to easily replace it in about 5 minutes and bought the part for $4 on Amazon (delivered free the next day). And no need to drive all the way to Pasadena and back again.

I've been coming to Pasadena Lighting for more than twenty years. I've worked with Dean, who is one of the many knowledgeable lighting consultants who work there. They aren't as cheap as Lamps Plus, but neither is their quality, To top it off you get to notch advice and personal service, their showroom is laded with great merchandise and they have tons of lighting books to look through, if you don't see just what you are looking for.
