John, ER patient registration at 6am on July 11th had an unkind demeanor and frankly made me uncomfortable to be around as he did not respect patient privacy. I was attempting to start pumping in my room for my newborn who I had to leave at home and he swung the curtain open, didn’t ask if now was a good time (they always have in the past or made an announcement when entering the room), and just proceeded to ask me intake questions. I felt so uncomfortable I couldn’t continue attaching my pump as I was exposed with my shirt down and just covered up until he left. From the minute I was assigned my room after arriving from the ambulance to when he returned, his demeanor and sarcasm were not appreciated to overhear from the hallway or experience first hand.

I visited the emergency room, and it turned out that I needed surgery and stayed in the hospital for two nights. All the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and I felt well cared for. Jenna in particular was amazing. She was so cheerful and was always willing to answer questions.

I have had a few experiences with PeaceHealth St. Joseph in Tacoma, and here in Bellingham. The jury is still out on some issues. But it is quiet and peaceful, as the name says. After further interactions with RN Spence and Menehan Heather. I changed my opinion on PeaceHealth. My wife Donna, who was a nurse herself, laughed and had a conversation concerning our family. I knew this was a good hospital and the services were caring and great. 5 out of 5.
