The doctor for my intro eval quit the week after my first appointment and charged me overtime for the time he spent on technical issues. Then they had me schedule another intro appointment and charged me for that too. Racking up almost $1,000 in medical bills with no positive outcome or care for me whatsoever. I've been calling them every week for six months to try and clear up the issue. Every time they tell me something different. There was a billing error that they're fixing, there wasn't a billing error, someone's going to call me in a week, it might take awhile to figure out. I'd be so happy to get out of this situation without being totally scammed but at this point I just want to be done with it and know if they're going to send my bill to collections or not. I just want a straight answer.
It's been one of the most stressful and infuriating medical experiences I've ever dealt with and it really makes you feel powerless in the face of our horrible medical system. It's ironic that taking the first step of seeing a psychiatrist to improve my mental health has actually led to my mental health deteriorating.
