I was very excited to try Pennyroyal Farm, known for their goat cheese and wine but was left disappointed. For starters the reservation system was misleading. Per their website, we called for a large group reservation and was confirmed for a “wine tasting”. When we got there, we were coldly told they could not accommodate our group for a table tasting and would need to go back and forth from our table to the counter to receive pours; we wish that was clarified during the reservation process. If you’re expecting a traditional sit down wine tasting experience, this is not the winery.
We ended up ordering 2 bottles of wine, charcuterie board, deviled eggs, bruschetta and pretzel (wine was just okay but the food was good). The winery is cute but won’t be returning here due to the service.
We met friends there on Wednesday. Arrived in 2 cars. We were so excited to try out the wines and cheeses. We walked in and there were only 2 other people there. We went to the counter. 6 of us. We were met by Jamie and he immediately said they only did tastings for 4 or less people. I explained we could go as a separate group of 4 and 2 since that is how we arrived. No problems. He kept saying “ we only do tastings for 4 or less”. He immediately started out so very rude. I was taken aback and And just stood there for a second trying to understand why he was so rude. He walked out and came back and said he would do the tasting but we had to buy 2 bottles at the end. He then said we had to sit inside because “ of the health of the employees”. We went outside and it was a lovely breezy morning so we sat down. We ordered several trays of snacks and onion rings and did the tastings. Marisol was lovely, by the way. Jamie has a terrible attitude and was dismissive and embarrassing for your business.
