I went with them to exterminate whatever was biting me at night because they gave me the most affordable option out of all the companies I was checking out. I put my faith in them to figure out what bug it was. Turned out it was carpet beetles. I had the person check my room, where they were found, and then a couch I had slept in a few nights. The inspector didn't find anything on the couch.
The first red flag came about when I had another inspector from a different company come check out the room where he found more carpet beetles. I then had him inspect the couch just to make sure the first inspector with PestCal was right that there were none. This second inspector with the second company that came by found some on the couch where the inspector from PestCal did not. A misdiagnosis from PestCal.
I ignored this and went for it with PestCal anyways. After they did the first treatment I was pretty confident I would stop getting bit at night. I did everything they told me I needed to do but I still woke up itchy after the first treatment. I let them know and they scheduled me a week from the day I called. A week I was bound to get bitten again and again.
The same guy came, sprayed again, reassured me the problem was going to be fixed and left.
I called to let them know that I was going to be shifting rooms in the house because one of my housemates are moving out and they said they can't do anything about this. That I would have to either have my landlord pay for the services again, which he won't do or pay it myself for the new room.
I get their contract says that if its a new room that's being treated that the customer would have to pay again but given that money was already spent on this and the problem wasn't fixed I would have hoped the company to have some common sense and at least offer a deal on the new room. Nope.
I am still getting bit. $250 wasted.
Our family has been doing business in the San Fernando Valley involving commercial properties since 1957. During that course of time we have had the opportunity to hire various contractors representing all the trades. As a result, I can draw on past experience to determine in a working situation the quality of relationship I have with the individual I've selected to complete the job. First is the level of communication we have between us. Second is if the project is on schedule as agreed. Third is level of quality at job end. Fourth is fair pricing. I use these four areas to determine if the job was done right and if I going to continue to do business with an individual and their company in the future. I can state that PestCal Exterminators definitely hit the mark. It was my experience that during the job I hired PestCal to do I could lay my head on my pillow at night and sleep knowing things were completed right. That's worth a lot. Kevin and his crew are super. I would not hesitate to do repeat business with them. - Tom D.
