A nice wide open place by the sea which is a habitat for many species of birds and marine life.
The Point Arena Lighthouse is a very historic and prominent landmark here.
An interesting place to visit if you are in the neighbourhood!

A nice place to spend an hour or two along the Northern California coastline. $10 to drive out to the lighthouse and there is a small gift shop/exhibit about the history of the place. It has some excellent views north & south, and for a little extra you can go up into the lighthouse on a guided tour. Worthwhile stop along the coast highway.

Stay away from cliff edges, esp w/children. Hold onto them. Often high winds. GORGEOUS scenery but the dramatic cliffs are not safe. Great photo ops. Just be aware at all times. Closed early at 4:30p.m. there are places to stay over night. Lots of parking.
