Alice is super unique as a college counselor because she focuses on bringing out your own unique passions rather than trying to morph you into a copy of others — which I think is what ultimately got me into Stanford! She has been incredibly supportive of everything I do and has helped me find so many different opportunities related to my passions.
For the essay-writing process, Alice was a HUGE help, not just by helping with technique and style, but also by pushing me to reflect on myself and to really focus on the concepts in my essays. I think my essays were probably one of the main reasons I got into Stanford, and it’s thanks to brainstorming with Alice for hours that I was able to think of them! I went from being completely stumped on my personal statement to having an essay that I’m still extremely proud of.
Honestly, talking to Alice sometimes felt like a therapy session because she helped me figure out countless things about myself. She told me that the goal of writing essays was to “discover your philosphy”, and I definitely did!
I’m so, so grateful to Alice for helping me get into my dream school, and I can’t wait to go to Stanford!
Working with Alice over the past few years was instrumental in my college application journey throughout high school. She was always so willing and able to help in any way she could, whether it was answering general questions or diving into specifics to lead me in the right direction.
Especially during the essay writing and application cycle, she was always such a big help, removing any small doubts I had during the process, as well as spending hours proofreading and giving detailed feedback on my essays, which ultimately played a pivotal role in my admission to Rice. She always made available as many resources as possible that could help.
If you are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced counselor or mentor to guide you throughout your college application process, I strongly recommend Alice, especially if you are looking to make your college essays the best they can possibly be!
