Our remodeled kitchen has open shelving made by Ponderosa Millworks. The kitchen is still work in progress, but the shelves are definitely the highlight of the space. Our ordered pieces were to specs in size and texture/color. I’m super happy with the final product. I have recommended this shop to several people including subcontractors working in our house. Everyone admires the quality of work, so it’s easy to be satisfied with this artist.
I’ve worked with both Michael and Matt, with Ponderosa Mill Works, on several of my projects, and have been extremely happy, and will refer them ongoing to my friends and clients, alike.
Michael milled a beautiful floating headboard for me, with a live edge. Incredible. He was clear I wanted a very natural dry look and feel and that’s what he gave me. It’s perfect, and the conversation piece of my home.
Matt applied layers of a mineral oil to an antique Balinese screen, that was very parched and at risk of cracking. It’s now looking healthy and beautiful. He also performed a Japanese torching technique called Shou Sugi Ban, on an old bench from Indonesia - what I described to him as a charcoal effect as we see with a bonfire left behind on the beach. Matt was very patient and he worked with me to get the perfect dry finish I was after. No sheen. Perfection.
I will use Ponderosa Mill Works for all of my projects ongoing and shout out to my friends and clients about their beautiful work and excellent customer service. A++
I won't give a 1 star because they seem like they do good work. However, I have been trying to get a custom river dining table ordered since March and they still have not given me a quote for the different wood to use. We went there in person to look at the wood and reached out multiple times to try and obtain a quote. I gave them some time because their table was broken and couldn't cut any wood for almost a month. Then, there was a new person in charge with emails. Then, they had to catch up on the backed up order. However, it is now June and nothing. As much as I'd love to have their beautiful work in our home, I am thoroughly disappointed with their customer service and am considering looking elsewhere.
[update] I was contacted and have been in communication with the project. Hopefully, I can have a beautiful heirloom in the house.
