Update: unfortunately I was hoping for a positive service recovery and updated positive review here however it doesn't appear that it will go that way. So the company is now threatening to place a lien on property because we will not pay them until the outstanding work is completed or the issues we are having with cement and pool equipment are taken care of. From my experience and if I had to to do ot over again, I would NOT HIRE pooltime to install or refinish a new pool or pool decking. This company acts as if the 40K or possibly more you spend on a pool gives them the right to make all decision and consult only with you afterwards.. and if your not happy ohh well pay up or well put a lien on your house. Not exactly the typ of buisness I can promote. Good luck for whomever chooses them to do thier pool... I would hope you have a better expernce then we have had.
Currently based on our experience with pooltime, I would find it very hard to recommend them. We started this project back in February. They had us use Lyon finacial for our financing as that is who they said they refer people to and use. The project was supposed to start in April, they came for one day and then we didn't see them again until I called in May. The project had had problem after problem and at one point they were going to pool Grey concret for our pool decking when I had been clear I wanted to pick our the style and color.. but they had never set up a meeting or sent anyone to the house with samples, ect. The pool wasn't finished till August 2023 however we are no dealing with more issues. They put in a wifi pump which had we been asked about would have declined because that section of our property has poor wifi signal so it's not practical for us... then there is the issue of our pool lights that were installed but to our knowledge don't have a physical GFI switch to turn them on and off, or the fill float that wasn't set correctly that caused the pool to flood the yard, or the cracks now forming in pool decking... I could keep going. At this point I. running out of hope that pooltime is willing to make those things right.. everytime we bring something up they say ohh well that will cost you more and we will send over an addendums.. last time I checked fixing problems or things you didn't clarify or ask me about shouldn't result in me paying you more money.
Let's also be clear when you use lyon finacial, once Pooltime asks for the first disbursement the loan is locked in and they will not accept any additional addendums or cost, so for anything that comes up aftrr the first stage disbursement you will have to pay out of pocked. If you have 5,000 to 10,000 liquid to do that then your probably fine. but if your financing or have other projects going on, the addendums can add up.
The large majority of our feelings about this company come from the lack of communication. Apparently they have a construction team and a project manager. We made our proposal contract with constriction leaf, but once started I don't believ the project/finacial manager ever reached out to keep us updated on dates or what stage s of project we were starting or finishing. Additionally nobody ever very clearly went over our equipment that would be replaced and or what it would be replaced with. The communication with us the client has not been great and it's clear they communicate between construction and projects/finacial manager is also not. that great.
So we have been dealing with getting this pool done since April. That's 5 months and if you count our in person meeting in February it's been 7 months for what was supose to take 5-6weeks plus about 2 weeks to draw up proposal to start.
Currently we are wishing we had never done the pool or went with pooltime. I am hoping that at some point they can do service recovery here and I can add an edit to this review that is positive.
