Based upon a reference from the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, we contacted Preservation Arts in April 2019 regarding the evaluation and possible restoration of our family painting, dated 1625, from the Dutch artist Thomas de Keyser, oil on oak panel. Stephanie did a very thorough and thoughtful evaluation on the state of the painting. After her review she provided us with several options on how to proceed with the painting. She took a conservative approach in order to preserve the integrity of the painting. During the two month process she conferred with us many times, explaining her findings and providing guidance on our choices on how to proceed. We were extremely impressed by her attention to every fine detail. She knew that this was a very precious piece having been in our family for 400 years and 14 generations. The detailed final report explained every step she took in the process, what had been done to the painting and frame. Before and After detailed pictures. Incredible.
Customer Service was second to none!
Expertise in their field was evident during every step of the process!
We sent the report to an art historian and researcher who is an expert in Dutch/Flemish art at the National Gallery of Arts in Washington D.C. Based on her expert opinion the painting was treated with the attention and white gloves service that a 400 year old painting truly deserves.
Thank You to Stephanie and Rowan at Preservation Arts. You have insured that the 15th generation will be able to continue to enjoy this family treasure!
