My son currently plays on Prime All American Baseball and we are thinking about leaving Prime because it isn't a good program. If you want to chase rings with zero player development and disparaging coaching, Prime is the place. But, better make sure you are prepared to succumb to the Prime business model of paid private lessons, disparaging coaching and a short term vision.
For starters, the coaching is verbally abusive in a really extreme way. I am not referring to demanding coaches that push kids with their long term benefit in mind. I am referring to very bad attitudes that create a bad environment for the players.
The other issue with prime that is also very evident amongst the parents is a huge conflict of interest. The issue is that the owner/coach (Blake) and the coaches offer private lessons to the players. But, if you don’t pay up and get private lessons with them, your kid maybe won’t start or play key positions or play as much as the players paying for lessons.
Some additional information is that three coaches recently left (Sep 2021) at the same time because of some falling out with the owner. Their best team also left at the same time. This was also their most successful team by far. It was their 12u team at the time. All gone.
It is really hard to write this review because it makes me wonder why we are still putting up with Prime. I think it’s mostly because my son has friends on the team that he likes and some of the parents are our best friends.
I hope this helps anyone that wants to know the truth about this organization.
