I see that I am not the first one to have been taken advantage of by this company, so it is even more important that I leave my experience with Peter Carey's company. I spoke with Peter this past July, last minute, because I needed help with finishing the last of a move from my former home. I am physically disabled, on a fixed income, and Peter was made aware of this. He tells me that he can help me, for a $100 an hour. Needless to say, in the position I was in, I could not find anyone else on such short notice. Peter said he could help, and so I put trust in him doing the professional job that he not only advertises, but charges a premium price for. Needless to say, I was given anything but that.
The day of, after speaking to Peter more than once prior, he sends me two kids. They were barely in their 20s, and as I found out in just the first few hours, they were nearly devoid of experience. They could not pack efficiently, leaving boxes loosely packed and even fragile items unsecured, nor could they even tape boxes up in the slightest bit of respect for valuable belongings or the 'professional' service that I was sold by Peter Carey. The one young man was as rude as could be, frustrated with being questioned, and in the end little was done that should had been. After obtaining my belongings back from the storage crates that these boxes were loaded into, by Peter's boys, the crushed boxes said everything about how little experience these boys had.
After I could not take anymore, seeing what these two kids were doing, I called it a day after only 5.5 hours (with their 1.5 hour commute). I got Peter on the phone to discuss payment. Only then did he tell me, and I quote: "they are trained on the job". That is what Peter Carey said to me. That for $100 per hour, plus commuting time, that I was given trainees with no supervision on site. Nothing about this on his website, nothing. Peter knew exactly what he was/is doing, and he did nothing short of rob me. In all honesty, I should have denied payment entirely, right then and there; and here is why..
I have filed a dispute through the Attorney Generals office, and Peter has chosen to completely ignore the mediation process. That is the kind of businessman he is; a swindler.
For anyone thinking about using this company, I would advise you to go elsewhere. My message to Peter, here and now, is that he will be served Small Claims papers, and I will see him in court.
