Without a doubt in my mind Barbra is one of the worst to ever step up to the mental health professional plate. A totally dismissive and patronizing person, whose chief interests seem to be whatever is easiest and most comfortable for her personally, she displays a concerning lack of knowledge or care for her field as a psychiatric nurse, and seems to only exist to furnish anxiety medication.
Attempting to speak to her about anything outside of this tends to end with her deriding the patients background and offering a poorly maintained list of other mental health resources they can pursue instead. I was originally sent to Barbra by my primary physician, in order to discuss treatment options for difficulty focusing and managing tasks. Despite this, in roughly 2 years of working with Barbra, very little has been accomplished due to her simply refusing to take any real interest in helping me.
She tends to think that somehow, in using the internet, people become convinced they have disorders that they don’t “really have”, and due to this belief she ignores lived patient experiences and familial medical history in favor of dismissing the extra work it would take for her to learn to do a very common aspect of her profession.
All in all, speaking to Barbra is like speaking to a brick wall, and I feel like my experience with her has undoubtedly worsened many of my symptoms and set my life goals back considerably. Unfortunately, if you’re concerned about adult ADD, ADHD, or really any similar condition in the spectrum of mental health, according to Barbra, none of the fine folks at Adventist Health are qualified to help you.
I've been extremely blessed too have found & be seen by Dr. Scott Stevens! Honestly one of VERY BEST Dr.'s I've ever seen in my over 50 yrs seeing medical professionals. I highly recommend him ! I'm very high anxiety with PTSD and severe past childhood trauma. I was terrified too meet and trust a new Dr after being treated terribly and dangerously by most dr.s I've seen in butte County past 20 yrs....what a blessing Dr. Stevens is 😊 ! He put me at ease immediately, listened , treated me very compassionately, caring, safe, kind, and such a great "bedside manner" so too speak. It's so rare in the world today too find medical care that fits & helps a person with my conditions as mine. (Or any person at all honestly) Dr. Stevens is just amazing and I truly feel he's saved my life. As well as helping me learn too enjoy, feel safe, and grow happily the last part of my life. His staff is great as well ! I must say his nurse/assistant Laurie, is super kind, helpful, and made the whole transition and new experience very much welcoming. As well as very efficient, very paitcent with me, and much quicker scheduling of 1st appointment too meet and start care I've had in many years ! I thank you very much more than i can put in words Dr. Stevens ! And thank you nurse Laurie ! I feel like a brand new mentally happy and healthy person ! I pray that i may stay youre paitent for as many years as possible ! 🙂❤️🩹👍🎉🫶💯⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!! Thank yall soooooo very much.!!!
