This is the second time we have experienced very unprofessional and racial bias behavior at this location. Specifically on this incident BLAIR is extremely rude and non engaging manager. My husband and I entered before 5PM to drop off our belongings after a camping trip per usual. Blair, who I later found to be the “manager” walked by us with headphones in. We had to speak out loudly, 3 times to get his attention for assistance on locating more push carts. His response “I don’t know, I’m closing up”. Very dry and rude as if he couldn’t be bothered to help us. He then walked by 2 more times while we unloaded our truck and staged items by the elevator. As we get ready to put our things on the elevator, Blair for the third time walks by us stating that they are closed. When informing him that we are just dropping off and wouldn’t be long, he then walked away. After trying to get on the elevator, I could not get access to go to our floor. Once he walked by again, I asked him if he could let us upstairs so we can drop off our things. He then accuses me of yelling at him prior and continues to ignore me. This is an example of abuse of power. This man walked past my husband and I several times prior, he never engaged or looked at us. There wasn’t any help with finding a cart, he never gave us a warning that the elevator would be inoperable after closing even if patrons are still in the building. He literally stood back and watched each time as we unloaded our truck. I have been to my storage unit several times after a camping trip, and never had any problems before. We typically show up around 430 and they close at 5. We are normally out of there a little after closing. I personally feel singled out due to racial bias because of how engaged and friendly Blair was with the other non-BIPOC patrons. Blair is very rude, dismissive and not a good individual to be in management.
But like stated before this is not our 1st negative interaction with this location. I think it would be wise for HR or Corporate to enroll all employees in DEI training.
