Walked into the gift shop and saw two other customers gathering lavender. As we made our way to where we assumed the lavender field was through the back entrance an employee/owner stopped us and shut the door in our face and said 'sorry it cost money to go out in the back during blooming season'.
No hello, no greeting, nothing.
As we stood there shocked at the lack of civility she proceeded to help the other customers and being friendly since they were making a purchase. She gave us dirty looks and we decided to leave the premise.
We were going to pick lavender and see the garden but were not given the opportunity to make any inquiries before the rude encounter.
We were more than capable at paying the nominal fee to wander and pick.
Not sure after our encounter and reading another poor review how they stay in business.
Judging people negatively as they enter your establishment for whatever reason is a poor way to do business.

Called in to find out details about Purple Scent Lavender farm, i was not informed of the CHARGE for entrance, also i don't understand why we couldn't take our sandwiches in?! Be aware that if you bring professional camera their will be addition charge, plus the ice cream had very little flavor of lavender, and i felt rushed to leave after the closing hours. oh and their is no parking stops available , you have to park on the side of the road. Over all the place is beautiful, but will i come back their again... i don't think so. I didn't feel welcomed by the owner, however the owners grandkids were really nice, but its just to many rules to follow... ohh and after going back to their web page, ready through the "details" i found out that i had $3 credit to buy from the store, the owner didn't bother to inform my group about that...

The hours on Google are not accurate. The female owner was blunt about telling us so. The shop is "closed for the season" despite the signage on the highway and the hours on Google. The store is open "by appointment only" but I certainly wouldn't trouble them with an appointment after our experience. I gave two stars because the view was nice for the minute we got to enjoy it.
