Rainy City Midwifery provided the most amazing care throughout my pregnancy and helped us prepare our home, hearts, any bodies for the amazing journey to parenthood. While our birth didn't go as "planned", the midwives helped us make decisions along the way and supported our to transfer to a hospital. Despite not having the home birth, they never once made it feel like a failure. Something I hadn't anticipated was the postpartum/newborn care--I thought since we transferred we may miss out on that part! However, they came to our home after we left the hospital, spent enormous amounts of time with us, ate lunch with us, and Lynn even took pictures throughout labor, of Porter as a newborn, and a photo to commemorate our "graduation" from their care. I'd be lying if I denied shedding a few tears... almost makes me want to have another just to be able to spend more time with them. Almost, I said. ;) I'm sure we will see them in a few years!

They have been great with me and my wife. The checkups are personal and supportive. We needed to call yesterday for some quick emergency guidance and the on call midwife was thorough with knowledge and instruction which was helpful.

We love everyone here... I actually looked forward to my prenatals! My birth plan was completely derailed after I was in labor for nearly 4 days and I ended up at Swedish on pitocin, but the midwives at Rainy City were so lovely and helped me through the whole process logistically and emotionally. They still did 2 home visits to check on me and our little one (even though we practically live out in the boonies!) and we still see Abby and Sara for pediatrics. Such lovely and kind people, no wait time, great student midwives, and really knowledgeable. We were initially worried about the safety of an out of hospital birth, and they reassured me every time I had a new concern I'd panic-researched. I actually felt that they were more knowledgeable (and a LOT more caring) than the super reputable OBGYN practice I initially started my pregnancy with. At one point, I went to UW for some additional fetal monitoring, and two of the nursee and one OB both said they'd worked with Rainy City on several occasions and were super impressed with the care.
