Normally I wouldn’t even care to write a review, but Rasi African Hair Braiding has pissed me off. I’ve used her services about 3 or 4 times for my 10yr old daughter, each time when making an appointment over the phone I am quoted a price which is $175 plus hair that’s provided the total comes up to $187. Today 8/11/2023 my daughter had an appointment for twist box braids, when getting to the shop and going over the services that we previously discussed over the phone…because I don’t do well with conflict, I try and make sure we stick to the same script!…she tells me the twist is $200 plus with hair the total will be $212, so I asked when did she change her prices , because I just not too long ago used her services, she says “ no they’ve always been that price” I said ma’am it’s never been that price and I’ve used your services 3 or 4 times, then I show her pics of the different times she’s braided my daughters hair, and her response was “ I don’t remember doing that” my daughter and I both had a perplexed look on our face. If school wasn’t starting this coming Monday, and for the simple fact today is Friday, so I would never find a braider this short of a notice, I would have walked out of the shop!!…I say all of this to say, if you ever make an appointment with Rasi African Braiding, it’s definitely going to be a price change by the time you get to your appointment, also when making an appointment for a child, take note that she does not have kid friendly prices, it will be the same price as if an adult would pay, it’s giving “ very money hungry” and I’m NEVER coming back.

Needed my hair braided in an emergency and called Rasi. She was very personable over the phone in which she welcomed me to come in the next day.
The shop is in a really nice area and very clean and sanitary inside.
Rasi was attentive and very professional. She did an exceptional job braiding my hair with singles and French braids. Not to mention she was very quick along with her prices being reasonable.
If you're looking for a place Rasi African hair braiding is the place to go to. You will not be disappointed.
Rasi good luck in your new location and I will see you soon. Thank you again for a very versatile hairstyle.

I was looking for a new shop to take my 10 year old daughter to so that she could get her hair braided for her birthday. Wow. Rasi African Hair Braiding in Berkeley exceeded our expectations. My daughter usually has a tender head, but the stylist braided her hair with such gentleness and care. The braids look fantastic. We will be coming back. Thank you!
