Just got a bill from services done 1 year ago for ~$500. There was a problem with my insurance right after the appointment, and last I heard I asked Kaiser to contact them, and then to contact Kaiser, which reps from both companies agreed to. I hadn’t heard anything FOR A FULL YEAR. And then this bill shows up. They won’t contact the insurance company to straighten it out (which is part of their job), they told me their offices was undergoing “changes” and that’s why it took them a full year to mail me the bill. I changed insurance companies since then, so getting a hold of someone at Kaiser is just impossible without the member number or an active insurance policy. If the office can’t be transparent about cost or their reluctance to work with insurance, this place shouldn’t be in business.
It's nice that they accept state insurance, but that's about it. We were passed around from counselor to counselor. The first one was a student and needed more experience, this was coming from their supervisor. The second one was constantly knitting and somewhat passive during our sessions, and then moved to Canada. The last counselor we saw was the best fit, but out of nowhere their branch shut down and all communication was cut off. This abrupt ending was it for us.
