I chose not to have my wedding here. Everything was an extra cost, I felt like I was being nickle and dimed to death. The venue is pretty, but right next to the highway, in the background of the ceremony venue. They do have a separate brides and grooms suites for getting ready, the cost plus all the details turned me off. Better for big wedding with lots of people.
My wife and I got married here, it's a very beautiful place. I thought the highway in the background would be a distraction, but the road noise is very quiet, most times not even noticeable. The surrounding scenery more than makes up for that. The price was comparable for similar venues in the area (I mean, all wedding venues charge a small fortune, but there's few ways of getting around that unless you have a family member who owns one), and we felt we got the most bang for our buck here. You do have to be careful of all the accessories, they can add up if you rent everything they've got here (mic systems, speakers, linens, aisle decorations, heaters, etc.).
From the pictures I saw after the wedding, the bridal suite/prep area was really nice inside the house (huge couches, big flat screen TV, huge bathrooms, etc). The groom gets a shed. Nothing fancy, but serviceable. The wedding planner/coordinator and staff we worked with were nice and helped us set up everything, but I have to knock one star off for disappearing during the day of our wedding. In our package it listed "day-of wedding coordinator", but since they disappeared right after set-up we didn't really have anybody there to coordinate the actual wedding (our photographers and my wife and I basically took over that role). Keep that in mind if you really need to stick to a schedule and want to have someone making sure everything is going according to plan.
Overall though, we had a pleasant time working with Red Barn Farms and felt that the venue and the natural beauty of the Palouse was worth it for our special day.
