Here's the latest: Cameras are not useful in any of the buildings. Cars, Package Rooms, and the building is routinely broken into with things stolen, or occupied by vagrants. The noise pollution from 6AM onwards, with heavy equipment dealing with trash, and repeat construction/renovation for months on end in the summer will drive just about anyone insane. Rent goes up year after year due to their collusion with RealPage.
There are better complexes.
I’ve lived at red160 for about 2 years. The reason why I’m giving a one star review is because the staff is not successful in resolving issues to accommodate persons with disabilities.
For example, about 2 weeks ago a new resident moved in. They installed a doorbell camera. If the camera was only aimed at their own front door entry, it wouldn’t be a problem. However, these apartments are setup like a hotel…meaning there is a main entrance that leads into the building, but we share hallways and our apartment door entry is accessed by walking down these shared hallways.
The resident with the doorbell camera lives in an apartment at the end of the hallway (think of sitting at the head of a table). So their camera records all the activity in the entire hallway. Monitoring who takes what to the garbage chute, when and who gets on/off the elevators, when you are home vs when you are not home.
What are they doing with this information? Are they tracking when we are home so they can decide when to rob us? Why do these fellow residents need to know who is visiting us and at what times? Are they going to use these videos for deep faking? Seems overly and unnecessarily invasive.
If it was a security company hired to track, it would be different. But the fact that these are private citizens recording the comings and goings on this entire hallway seems inappropriate. Recording our daily activities seems violating. Also, if the camera was positioned to face only their own doormat, it would be different. But they have placed the camera so it records the entire hallway.
This is only one example, but there are more. All unresolved. Bottom line is that if you have anxiety, are neurodivergent, or maybe just value your privacy as a private citizen, then I recommend renting elsewhere. You will not get adequate accommodations for your disabilities at red160 unfortunately.
I recently toured Red160 and I'm really impressed! The location is prime – walking distance to downtown Redmond and easy access to 405.
Special shout-out to Daniel, the leasing agent who helped me on my tour. He was super helpful and knowledgeable, taking the time to understand my needs and show me different options, even though I didn't make an appointment! Not pushy at all, just a great guide through the process.
Overall, Red160 looks like a great place to live if you're looking for a modern, convenient, and well-managed apartment in Redmond!
