I don't usually write reviews but since two adults assaulted my 4 year old here I can make an exception. My 4 year old was carrying around a daddy long leg spider showing it to people, and there were no issues until two drunk adult showed up with alcohol and their kids to the Riley Creek Campground Park. My son made the mistake of running over and showing it to the adult man baby drinking liquor at 1:00 in the afternoon and before I could get to my son this man baby started hitting him and lifted his leg to kick him. Fortunately, I got to him in time before he could. My son has a disability and did not understand exactly what was going on and of course wants to stay at the park. So in wrapping up the situation trying to get my son to leave who still wants to play becaise he has done nothing wrong he then shows the wife of the drunk man baby (who also reaks of liquor) who then also slaps him, so I proceed to slap her back, or remove her hand from my son then their son takes the spider and throws it. I have had enough by that point and call the police, Fortunately 3 show up but I doubt they did anything. Where was the Campground hosts? Who knows. Apparently in Idaho you can assault a 4 year old and not be held accountable. Shame on all the onlookers as well watching a 4 year old get slapped and a single mom having to stand alone against two drunks. So if this is your thing camp here for sure. Drunks at the park is prevelent here. Despite this my son had a good time. I would like to press charges against these adults, it seems they had friends at the park, unless is it legal to assault children in Idaho? Just a word of the wise, if a daddy long leg scares you enough to slap someone else's child then camping isn't your thing, having children may not be your thing either.

This is a very busy campground with emphasis on anything water. It does have a playground and a few other amenities. Cell service is good, Verizon, campgrounds are kept clean. Fire rings. Lots of families with young people. Some sites have electric and some with electric and water. Sewage dump next to entry of campground. Leave early to avoid the “dumping line”. Typical Corps of Engineers campground. Spots have a distant feel but you are in a large campground surrounded by folks in a wooded area so if you have issues with that, then it’s not for you. Dispersed camping fans would not like unless they need a hot shower and shore power for a day or two. Camp hosts very nice. Most camp spots mostly level. Some sites have tent accommodations in addition to your camper. This is a reservation only campground and they lock the gates at night. I give it 4 stars just because it’s not really my cup of tea. It is definitely cheaper than private and state campgrounds in this area. This campground is primarily used by folks from Washington state. We found that interesting.

So close to home we will get more dates booked next year had to cancel two of our trips thanks to Mother Nature in Yellowstone and diesel prices. But …
