This is an abandoned railroad trestle in Southern California, built in the 1910s for the Pacific Electric Railroad, then turned into the Southern Pacific, then to the Union Pacific, and abandoned in 2015. It was built on a line between West Riverside and Colton to serve several industries, but after abandonment the tracks were ripped out and the line is now gone other than the rail bed, some telegraph poles, this large bridge, and another smaller one near the 215 freeway. The bridge is made of wood, with a concrete center section being built later on in its life. It has a steel grate to walk on, as well as guardrails. However, do be careful if you walk along it as it’s rickety, and you could fall through when walking in the middle and at the north end of the bridge as boards can be cracked or missing and it’s easy to drop through. The north end is also extensively burned out, as seen in pictures. Overall, it’s a cool piece of Riverside history that was constantly neglected through the years.
