We were thrilled to visit as they required proof of vaccine and mask wearing. We felt very safe visiting, everyone was masked.
New favorite artist? Thornton Dial, his work along with many of his extended family were part of the My Way, African American Art from the Black South.
Thornton’s art is playful and sophisticated while retaining a real outsider feel. This man knew what he was doing.
He clearly passed on his love for the creative process to many of his family members who also had pieces included in the show.
This was out first visit and will make a point to visit every few months. An outstanding little museum.
