I am a former semi professional soccer player & my health and fitness is always a priority. I had just finished my 100 push ups - 100 pull ups - 100 dips & 2 mile run on the beach. I was about to leave, when I started to kick the soccer ball around on the sand with a father and his daughter. I over reached for a ball during a juggle session and ended up landing on both knees with some force. I'm almost 40 & This is the first time I had ever popped my back (thrown out) to the point of knowing I did something to it. I was able to carry on with my daily activity and even work out the next few days - but I had this aching discomfort in my middle to lower back - and the tightness began to wrap itself around into my obliques. For about 5-6 weeks, I could go throughout my day pretty fine, do push ups, lift weights, jog, cook dinner, do yoga - But this pain and discomfort would not go away. I had never done acupuncture - but my GF had dealt with two different accidents that injured her back ( one time was a Go-Kart accident where she got hit from behind. ) She recommend acupuncture. I decided to give it a chance and after doing some research on Dr Talin Mirzakhanian, I set up the initial assessment. After my first session, incorporating cupping, I honestly felt tremendous relief & asked how soon I could see her again for my next session. I waited about 5 days but I was truly looking forward to my 2nd session, knowing that my workouts probably continued to tighten the injured area. The 2nd session, I left loopy and out of it, but I felt even more relief and my daily discomfort diminished greatly after the 2nd session - but not fully healed & still felt discomfort. We spoke , after the apt. And she told me she believed I had 'pinched a nerve' in my back. I was then ready and committed to go in for as many sessions as needed because of the gradual relief I was feeling. After my 3rd session of acupuncture, cupping, and a lot of hope and prayer... My back pain, tightness, and any discomfort that I associated with the injury, completely went away. I'm not saying that all you will need is 3 sessions, everyone is different and there are numerous variables to your personal injury. But for me, on the 3rd appointment, Dr Talin M. was able to hone in on a certain vertebra and used multiple more acupuncture needles in the injured area. I woke up the next day with absolutely no discomfort in the area where I had felt my "pinched nerve" and I was truly surprised and so very grateful that I decided to go see Dr Talin. It's been about two months now after the 3rd session - and I have completely forgotten about the injury / pinched nerve.
I couldn't recommend her more if you are dealing with any type of injury... Do not hesitate to get an assessment. Obviously the quicker to address any problem in your life - the faster you may be able to overcome the problem. If I ever run into any issues in the future - I am going to set up an appointment as quickly as possible. My health and fitness is a huge priority, especially if it is affecting other areas of your life! I'm more than a believer and will advocate for Dr Talin's methods. Thank You So much Dr Talin - I will be back as soon as I feel any need to!
