The Monster Burrito was huge. I had it for lunch and dinner. The taste was great with the jalapeño peppers for heat. I will definitely try more from the menu.

I'm in the area at least once a month, and I rarely miss a chance to stop at Rubio's. Love the Carne Asada tacos, breakfast burritos, and especially her tamales (best tamales I've ever had). Yes, the place could use some TLC, but the service is consistent and food is authentic and awesome!

Great lunch stop in Alturas. The burritos were massive and stuffed with lots of ingredients and flavor, and the accompanying house salsa was fresh and tasty. They sell homemade tamales on Saturdays, and they even had local honey for sale too. Highly recommend! Plus you can splurge on milkshakes at Frosty’s next door!
