DO NOT CAMP HERE! You've been warned. I had to break camp at 12am due to extreme amounts of gun fire. This is a no shooting area as there are no back stops and everything is a park. Law Enforcement has zero response and does not care. The park does not care. You have to pay to camp here yet garbages are overflowing and the bathrooms are unusable. I stayed 1 night out of 3 planned. Many others around us left early in the middle of the night as well.
Absolute garbage experience here and will not go back. Nothing quite like having drunk people all around you firing off hundreds of rounds for hours at a time. We even watched people from a cliff side a few hundred yards to the east of us shoot across the dry lake bed and into the valley below while people were out in the lake bed. At one point you could see muzzle flashes from the other side of the lake.
Nothing quite like having a sketchy element in the mountains. Loud music all night, dogs barking, shootings, gang activity, fights, ATVs all hours of the day and in the lake bed. Local sheriff did not seem to care at all that we had kids around. Multiple people near us also called in the extreme amount of shooting going on. Lots of shooting into the air and indiscriminate into the woods across the lake.
