I went in today to pick up a prescription for my daughter. The technician that helped me informed me they weren’t able to fill it because they were out. Okay, understandable (nationwide shortage, I get it) but I wasn’t informed ahead of time they couldn’t fill it. I then asked if there was a substitution for it, and he said I needed to talk to the pharmacist. After waiting a few minutes, I was able to talk to him and asked him if there was a suitable substitution for the amoxicillin. His response, verbatim was “I don’t know. You should probably go to Sid’s pharmacy.” What pharmacist doesn’t know if there is a substitution for amoxicillin?? Or even tries to find one? Instead, passes it on to another pharmacy.

Due to severe staff shortages, this pharmacy is literally a health hazard. They don’t even answer their phone anymore and the system they use doesn’t even allow you to leave a message. They will take several days to fill subscriptions after the order comes in, allowing people to go without medications that might be keeping them alive! If Safeway can’t provide proper service, which obviously they cannot, they should shut this particular pharmacy down.

9-15-22 Love the cheerful and helpful staff!! Even though all of Moscow's pharmacies continue to have trouble finding pharmacists and assistants to employ since the COVID 19 shut down, this Safeway pharmacy has done their best to keep up and continue to serve their customers respectfully and quickly. The public is often short tempered when we perceive that we aren't served quickly enough or accurately enough but through all that my family have been happy with our little community pharmacy at Safeway.
