This is my 2nd solar energy system. I got my first one over 25 years ago and it was destroyed in a house fire in May of 2019. They were able to come over immediately to remove our old system safely after it almost started another fire! It was very dangerous work and they did a wonderful job! We had researched all the local companies and found they had the best reputation for long term satisfied customers and integrity as a company. Then Covid shut everything down. Finally, we had them place a new solar energy system on our newly rebuilt home. It cost half the amount of our first solar energy system and creates more energy with fewer panels! In fact, due to their careful planning and working closely with us they designed a system that creates enough energy that our “new” home and the ADU we built 6 years ago! And our monthly PG&E bill is under $50 per month for 2 adults and our 2 young grandsons! And we now have a net zero carbon footprint for at least the next 5 years!
I am very pleased to recommend Sandbar Solar! Everything was very professionally handled every step of the way! And we’ve had two years without a single problem and find ourselves sympathizing with friends whose energy bills are over $300-500 per month! Best retirement savings plan ever! Thank you Sandbar Solar!
We're now at about the 6 month mark for our new solar installation, and frankly, we couldn't be happier with the results and the work that Sandbar did. When we started, we knew the solar installers were going to be busy with the rush to get in under NEM2.0, but Jarrett was knowledgeable, super-responsive, and incredibly patient with our questions. With the demand, we did have to wait a bit for installation, but Jarrett and Jocelyn made sure to keep us in the loop as they managed scheduling, permits, and the utility interconnection process.
Installation went smoothly and the crew was on time, polite, and professional. PG&E took some time to do their part, but in the end we turned the switch on, and we're selling power to them now, instead of buying! The Q Cell panels and Enphase inverters and combiner are working great and the reporting tools included have been very useful.
Sandbar will be our first choice if we look to expand or add functionality, and we'd recommend them to anyone looking to make the jump to solar.
So excited that I am officially gone solar! Jeremy Pearl at Sandbar Solar & Electric and their team was was fantastic to work with. Jeremy came by in person to assess the job and then again to present the options for me. He explained all the related aspects of the job like panel connectivity and such which was a little challenging due to my townhouse situation. Jocelyn their office project coordinator was prompt and thorough in staying in touch and they handled all the utility paperwork . Their field team very friendly and professional. The install looks great.
Once it was all officially turned on, Jeremy came by to ensure I knew how to access the online performance tracking and answer my maintenance questions . So far the system has saved me $670 in electricity costs and it’s only been up since June ! 8.5 year payback on the system with my EV and some Home electrification after the Federal tax credit and I got a 12 month at zero interest loan through their partner company so I can bridge full amount due to when I get the tax credit in 2024.
Of the long-standing companies I got bids from (I wanted a firm that would be around if there are warranty issues in the next 20 years), Sandbar was the most cost effective AND I may have selected them regardless due to the exceptional service . Highly recommend!
They also have some exciting new offerings that include an onsite battery, (cheaper than full battery backup) that extends the benefits of your system and keeps payback periods low.
The only tip I have for customers is to prethink where you want the equipment installed in your garage and such. I did not and regret I did not have them install it a little higher so I could utilize the wall space below differently. These specifics are not something they plan for in advance, and even though the installer checked with me about the location, I hadn't thought it through in advance.
