Call Scotty's Heating and Air First!!! We've had a $19.99 monthly "membership" with Gilmore Heating and Air for several years. With the membership Gilmore comes out twice a year to check the system and give it a tune up if needed. The membership also provides a 10% discount on any repairs needed. In 2022 we paid Gilmore $1122 for repairs they said were necessary. We had no reason to doubt them. Perhaps those repairs were legitimately needed, perhaps not. We'll never know for sure. Gilmore has serviced the unit 3 times since then. Last week was the most recent seasonal tune-up. Though we have experienced no issues with the unit, the service tech gave us some bad news - our system had some serious problems. We could either spend $6,062.00 for repairs without any warranty, or we could purchase a new system which they advised was probably the better idea. A Gilmore sales person came out a few days ago to provide information and options for a replacement system. Bottom line, it was going to cost us about $18,000 (original quote was $21,000 but the sales guy spoke to his manager who said they could graciously drop the price to $18,000). We were then encouraged to sign the contract immediately to secure that price. We told the Gilmore sales person we would be getting more quotes prior to making a decision on such a large purchase. A few days ago I called Scotty's Heating and Air in Diamond Springs after reading many positive reviews. I spoke to Scotty who sent his tech, Tim, to our house the next morning. We asked Tim to check out the system and give it a tune up if needed. The fee for doing so was very reasonable - $89.00. His findings were astounding - he found the system to be in good working order with NO repairs needed. This is after we explained what we had been told by Gilmore. Tim certainly could have advised us to do some unneeded repairs in order to make some money but instead, he was honest and told us our 13 and 1/2 year old system looked good and was still in good working order. Scotty's Heating and Air have now earned our business for life. When it is time to repair or replace our system, we will be calling them to do the job. We highly suggest our neighbors do the same! My heat pump wouldn't stay on. Turned out it was the thermostat. One phone call and Scotty's best technician was here and replaced it with top of the line thermostat! Thank you so much!!
