I purchased Cackles the Clown from Party City last September My husband and I attempted to put him together only to find Part A completely rusted. We requested a replacement part that arrived just a couple days before Halloween. We then attempted to put Cackle together again only to find that both B and C were broken. Needless to say he was never put up for Halloween 2022. I began contacting sSVI in November of 2022 for a replacement part and they responded by saying a ticket was generated and they would keep me updated on replacement part. I contacted them again on January, April, May, July and then again in August. Still the same response. Then I contacted them again at the beginning of September and was then told he was no longer being produced and they had no replacements pairs for him. I was told to contact Party City with my original receipt for a purchase I made 1 year ago. Party City offer refunds for 30 days and not on Cackles. When you purchase Cackles it say Not to be returned but to contact SVI for any issues. So I am out of $500 for a very large, piece of trash.
SVI EMAIL RESPONSES:
“May i know the reason party city denied your refund/exchange? Did you buy this item as is or on a sale? We no longer have the parts for this item and this item has been discontinued by Party City. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do.”
“I am sorry to hear that you received a product that is no longer working. Unfortanetly, we will not be able to replace your item. If you still have the receipt and it is within the return policy of party city, i would recommend you returning this product.”
This is the company that produces some of Home Depots most popular and coolest Halloween decorations. Please note, that while they create these props, SVI does not actually have any of these items stateside. They are all shipped directly from where they're manufactured to Home Depot. So don't think you can reach out to them about getting your hands on a cool Halloween decoration that's sold out. They do have spare parts from time to time that they may be able to help you out with, if needed.
Huge shout out to Lois and the team there. I had an issue with a spider I purchased last year that was shipped to me a little broken, but once I was able to get a hold of her, she went above and beyond to help me out and sent me spider parts. I really appreciate her assistance.
