The house was dirty and poorly kept. Dishes were dirty but put away. The backyard is overgrown. The fridge water filter was expired. A closet door was broken and fell and hit my Mom (thankfully without injury).
Most importantly the house reeked of gas upon check in. Near non-existent responses from the hosts (see screenshots). Their solution was to get us some fans but still otherwise not respond to calls. We thought the leak was from a stove knob being left on so we didn't have it checked out the same day, however, in the morning the smell returned and a tech eventually found a large stove leak. The owners still would not answer other questions or calls about the filthy conditions etc. We tried to reach them all night to find a better solution than staying in the gas filled home with our baby but they just would not answer.
Their maintenance team shows up unannounced and wearing a tshirt sleeve as a mask (we'd hoped there would be ZERO outside traffic in the home given COVID and the presence of our baby and elderly mother).
You should be able to reach your hosts easily and this has been impossible. You expect a certain quality of product but overall it's been disappointing. We understand that some things fall apart or some things fall through the cracks and if they owners were more responsive, or at least ONCE apologetic (zero apologies so far) then we're usually lenient with miscues. However, they have been unresponsive and unapologetic and they have numerous complaints against them on the BBB recently for not refunding rentals for others during COVID travel restrictions etc. It demonstrated they're just out to make money and the client is purely a source of income and NOT a guest or a even a customer.
This review is ongoing, hopefully it can be adjusted if they become more responsive or attentive.
We stayed in the Queen Anne 6 house, the location and multiple bedrooms and bathrooms was perfect for all our family members. A couple of things...the basement bathroom was not cleaned (toilet) after a female had used it last, grouse and unsanitary. Come to find out they provide NO clean supplies to clean up the mess. They only provide dish soap and broom/vacuum. I texted Lynn to ask where I could find some disinfectant cleaner for kitchen counters and the downstairs bathroom and I was told those items are not provided. The strange part is on the Departure Checklist, they ask you to clean up major messes, spills and accidents, yet their are NO basic disinfecting supplies to clean them up. For such a large house that sleeps 18, their were NO large serving or cooking dishes in the kitchen. However, it was nice to have dish soap, paper towels and coffee filters, but NO basic cling wrap, which would be a nice touch. Also, the refrigerators didn't not keep our items cold, not sure if they are on the verge of going out. Lastly, was sent a text message that we weren't allowed to be outside on the deck past 9pm on a beautiful summer evening, we had 4 ladies outside. I think the noise hours need to be adjusted for the warmer temperatures since their was no AC in the house.
