One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle! Amazing how they can turn simple flavors of congee into an elevated dish of complexity and with flavors that pack a punch 💥💥
We tried the chicken congee, and it was so full of umami. The Tom Yum congee is definitely worth the price—one of the most flavorful foods I’ve had yet it’s light on the palate.
The Youtiao was also super crispy and crunchy, a great pairing with the congee :)
Super busy during lunch hours on a Sunday. Come early if you’re looking for indoor seating. They have outdoor seating for bigger groups.
Beef and Kimchi Congee ($16)
Spicy Tom Yum Shrimp Congee ($19) - Spicy but so flavorful!
Sea Bass & Chinese Herbs Congee ($25) - This was very bland. Not worth $25.
Youtiao Crispy Fried Dough ($4) - This is a must with congee!
Had the Tom yum congee with fried vermicelli and a soft boiled egg, youtiao (Asian cruellers)
Such a genius idea 😂 absolutely delicious, huge shrimp, perfect flavor, fried vermicelli added a nice touch, perfect youtiao. Coffee was good as well.
Nice fast service, good music, cozy.
Got 3 other types to go, will update
Update: had the Hokkaido Scallop with added century egg and it was every bit as delicious as the Tom Yum. Mellower flavor, nice scallop with the lip still on gave a nice chew.
Update 2: the Thai meatballs were very delicious, very nice texture, mostly soft but with some bite.
The beef kimchi congee had very nice meat and the kimchi had a nice flavor, I felt prominent shellfish.
Update 3: had the crab congee in store and got the tofu, chicken and fish to go. Got century egg and youtiao again as well.
Crab congee was good, fair amount of crab, sweet. The tofu is firm and tastes good, the chicken was nice and the fish was very buttery and the goji berries are nice.
Overall my favorite is the Tom yum shrimp, followed by the scallop and the meatball. Wanted to try the lamb shank but they were out. Also missed the restaurant week oyster special sadly. It's an awesome spot
