I have been friends with Crystal for almost 15 years, so I’ve seen her on several different career paths. Vet Tech, Coffee House Manager, Bus Driver in Denali National Park…she’s done it all! But I have never seen her love anything like she loves being an Esthetician. It’s very apparent she took something she was supremely passionate about and turned it into her career. As someone whose skincare routine consisted of hot water in the shower, and using the same Avon moisturizer I stole from my mom as a teenager, I felt completely lost on where to begin when I decided it was time to take care of my skin. There are so many overpriced products out there and I didn’t want to waste time or money on something that didn’t actually work. I have been an avid follower of the Selfish Skin & Wellness Instagram since its inception, and I have seen them post about the Visia Skin Analysis several times. Needless to say, I was dying to see what my skin looked like in those scans. Rather than book with a local esthetician (did I mention I live 1800 miles away in Wisconsin?) I decided to wait and see one of the ladies at Selfish whenever I made my way to the PNW. Well, I finally visited Oregon and Washington a few weeks ago, and my first order of business was to get an appointment booked for a new client treatment at Selfish. Gail was so sweet, and knowledgeable, and she even made time for me on a day the studio was supposed to be closed. She went over my Visia Skin Analysis in detail, and we talked about what kind of skincare routine I could realistically commit to, as someone who has never had one before. Then it was time for my treatment, and I’m not exaggerating when I say the cold globe massage was life-changing. In the future when people ask me “if you could relive one day from your past what day would it be?” I’m going to have a tough time choosing between my wedding day and the day Gail gave me a cold globe massage. Seriously, it’s that good. I left Selfish with glowing skin, and a bag full of products to treat my most prominent skin concerns. I’m seriously considering hopping on a plane to buy those cold globes, but luckily, I don’t have to! Selfish will ship them to me! Every day since seeing Gail I have worn nothing but tinted sunscreen and blush on my face. Foundation, concealer, powder… who needs them?! Not me, because I have a new found confidence and finally feel good about myself without a full face of makeup. That feeling, in and of itself, is truly priceless. I anticipate making more trips to the PNW in the future, and I will definitely be booking with Gail every time.
