Words will quite simply fall short in trying to describe the effect Sharon had on my child, but I will do my best. Sharon was recommended to us by our pediatrician after we had several speech therapists with variable levels of expertise producing at best- marginal results. Sharon Hansel Cohen is absolutely, however, is brilliant!! Her remarkable intuitive approach to our child coupled with years of experience and compassion allowed for immediate bonding and produced results nothing short of a miracle!!!!!! She goes above and beyond the call of duty and her stellar reputation in the field is more than well deserved. Our child is talking, comprehending and integrating into mainstream education and socialization. We only hoped and dreamed of what now is a reality for our child. In short, 5 stars is but an insult for a professional with such unique skills, amazing talent, and a beautiful soul. If your child needs a speech therapist, look no further! My autistic son has been going to Sharon for speech therapy. She is wonderful at what she does, and every session she ends up part counselor, hand holder, and always, a teacher.
In addition to speech, she is one of the few people that has made a strong connection with my son and she is able to translate his emotions - something that is so hard for a parent of a limited speaker. Our sessions always leave me smiling because I learn something new.
I am so grateful for all of the patient work she has done for my son and for my family.
