Once we would have listed Shilo in the higher quality of 3 star hotels. Not now. They put in whirlpool tubs, with really high sides and no handrails to safely enter/ exit. Fine if you're 30. Not 50+. You can see thru the bath towels. They must have been pool towels at some point. Discovered only 1 washcloth in the bathroom too late to get another. The 3d floor view was great, but there was no curtain on the balcony door? We were just above the road to the beach. The Kitchenette counter was disgusting dirty.
In a day when cutbacks are becoming more and more obvious, please do not cheap out on safety, cleanliness, and privacy.

Best location, super ocean views as well as nature (including deer sometimes), quiet, great room lighting, the hotel has many unique touches like etched mirrors with ocean life throughout, model ships in the lobby, aquarium near the lobby, and old charming touches. Bathroom tiles are decorative, beds are comfy. BALCONY to enjoy the ocean breeze and views. Two tvs, ironing board and iron, not a cookie cutter hotel which is refreshing. The only downside is some touch ups are needed as they are showing their age. Microwave is too small.

Very run down. Seems there has been no upkeep since it was built in the early 90s. The restaurant was closed permanantly. There were no cups in the room. The older woman at the desk looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if there was a lobby coffee service. She said "You have coffee in your room" To which I replied, "And no cups, do you suggest I drink it directly from the pot?" I ended up having to drive around looking for a place that was open.
