Teen kids and I visited for 3 days in early August, and enjoyed one of our most relaxing holidays in a long time. Hotel is conveniently located right off of Hwy 50. Chris checked us in, offered wine and freshly baked goodies. Hotel and grounds were recently remodeled (interior looks like West Elm), very clean and new. Rooms are comfortable, air-conditioned, and updated. We were pleasantly surprised to find a beautifully pristine creek (max is 3-4 feet deep) where we could cool off and swim. Kids wanted to roast s'mores, so Oscar (lives on site) kindly set up a campfire. We sat under the fairy lights, watching the creek, eating s'mores, enjoying life. Tahoe is a 30 min drive away. Craig and Amber (owners) are delightful and gracious hosts who want you to enjoy their Inn, which is a labor of love for them!

What a hidden gem! Stayed here in October as a basecamp for our backpacking trip into the Desolation Wilderness. Very friendly staff. The entire place is totally renovated inside and out to modern standard and updated with brand new beds, furniture. Good WiFi. Beds are super comfortable. The fridge and microwave are nice touches. The back BBQ area is on the shore of the American River. Choose one of the many reclined lounge chairs and soak in the serenity of the majestic river. There is a great Korean restaurant and general store nearby and a coffee shop next door. We will definitely be back to Sierra Inn for all of our future Lake Tahoe outings.

I highly recommend this hidden gem. Beautiful location, we stayed in room 21 and the view of the river from our room was perfect. Lots of hiking and a places to hang by the river close by. If we ever find ourselves back in this area we will definitely be staying here again.
