So I whent to the ER on the 4th of July. I had to call 911 because I was having chest pain, couldn’t cool down, and couldn’t keep any fluids down. They took my vitals and did an ECG and left it at that. Well my fiancé and our friend where trying to find out what hospital I whent too and finally found where I was. A lovely nurse came in and told me they called and for me to text them to let them know that I was ok because no one was able to get ahold of me for an hour. Well the doctor came in and asked about my pain and I told her it was 10/10 and I was on the verge of crying. Well looking at the notes she left, she said I’m comfortably in bed texting my friends for someone having 10/10 pain. I was trying to find a ride home so I wasn’t stuck in mount Vernon. I am always getting dismissed every time I come here. Or I’m never told about something. Like when I had a cyst on my spleen (wasn’t told for a year or 2) I’m always told I am too young to have heart problems, or health issues. The doctor also told me I shouldn’t have felt pain or have small bruises from the eco I had the day before I was in the ER. Also never got any blood work or an IV. I was clearly dehydrated because I wasn’t able to keep water down for hours. And every time they see my chart they always tell me of it’s just your anxiety. People come here for help, not to be dismissed on symptoms.

Every person I meet from Emergency, dietary, X-ray, housekeeping, nursing corp and doctors has been superb.

There is a culture of caring, helpfulness and going the extra mile for patients

Other organizations we have utilized will have one or two area of excellences. Skagit Regional is the North Star for all others to emulate . No one can match your organization’s performance or care.

Our sincerest thanks to the entire team in caring for my dad each day.

Went into the ER for kidney stone pain. Dr. Timothy O'Kelley not only was able to explain what was actually going inside my kidneys after CT scan. He communicated it thoroughly and in a way that I felt comfortable to go home. Everyone from the check in staff to the ER nurses that cared for me were beyond wonderful. Thank you Skagit Valley hospital for the thorough and gentle care!!
