After frustration with another provider that wasn't solving my problem , I found Smith Care. Dr Smith solved my skin problem first visit. She also found some pre cancer after a sample and she removed that on a second visit. I highly recommend Dr Smith. She is also a great judge of local restaurants. She sent me off to a great one and the food was amazing. 👍👍👍👍
This was my and my husband's first visit to see a new dermatologist. Had all records transferred from a previous one since 2011, but whose Silverdale PA staff kept leaving, and we didn't want to drive to the main clinic in Gig Harbor. But instead of being introduced to Dr. Smith on this first visit as we had expected and getting an initial, thorough exam, we were only scheduled with her PA for 15 minutes each.
When making our appointments I was told they still didn't receive any records, although our previous dermatologist insisted they sent it as a fax and a hard copy 2 weeks earlier. Called again a week later, and again claimed they didn't receive them. But after checking further was told they were on doctor's desk for review.
The PA said she never saw any of them, altho covering major issues like melanoma, basal and squamous cell carcinoma, and several Mohs/Brachy treatments. She rushed through the exam much faster than anyone we've ever seen in 2 States over 30 years of being treated for skin cancer, brushing off our comments like they were nothing. During that time, the assistant had located our hard copy records.
And we've never seen an exam room without a large light fixture with magnifier lense. We have no idea how she could see any suspicious lesions at all. My husband had to ask for a photo to be taken of the one he was told by the previous PA to watch for. So now we don't have confidence in getting the best available care, and rather driving to Gig Harbor for bi-annual exams.
