If you enjoy the outdoors, quite, and getting away from the crowds this is a great place to go.

Climb is steep. Was really peaceful and very few people.

Nice day hike into Soda Peaks Lake. Limited parking at trail head. You can get a self issued permit that is located a three or four hundred yards up the trail (take a writing instrument). Trail is easy to follow, but overgrown in places, and care should be taken since there are a fair number of tree roots exposed on the trail that could be tripped on. But you will be rewarded with fantastic views of St Helens, Rainier, & Adams. Not many hikers on the trail when I went, so its very quiet and peaceful hike. Lake must be stocked with fish, you can watch them feeding on the insects flying over the lake.
